Welcome!  This blog is where you’ll find daily coverage and updates on the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts’ deputation, legislation and activities during the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, which takes place July 8-17 in Anaheim, Calif.

The General Convention is the Episcopal Church’s bicameral governing body; it meets once every three years to set the direction for the church’s mission and ministry, worship and liturgy, policies and budget.  Comprising more than 800 lay and ordained deputies and 200 bishops, it is among the world’s largest legislative bodies.

Meet the Diocese of Massachusetts’ deputies here.  Learn about proposed legislation here.

The Diocese of Massachusetts is home to 72,000 people in nearly 200 congregations in cities and towns throughout eastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the islands.  Our congregations make up our diocese, and our diocese is part of the wider Episcopal Church, which in turn is part of a larger, global community of Anglican Christians.
